Money Hunter SMC
The structure indicator of the Money Hunter suite. A multi-timeframe tool that marks up the chart in the SMC / ICT style — automatically identifying trend shifts (BOS / ChoCh), inducement, accumulation/distribution points, bullish/bearish order blocks, and Premium/Discount zones. Available on MT4/MT5 and TradingView.
Money Hunter ships as two indicators on the same chart. This page covers MH SMC (structure). The points-of-interest layer is documented separately — see Money Hunter ToolBox.
01What it is
MH SMC does the structural markup for you, so you read the chart instead of drawing it. It:
- Identifies market structure automatically — BOS, ChoCh, and their sweeps
- Marks inducement (IDM) as a false-entry filter
- Draws order blocks — OB-IDM, OB-EXT, previous OB — with FVG
- Shows higher-timeframe and inner structure on the current chart
- Adds a dashboard with the probable trend on three higher timeframes
- Highlights Premium / Discount zones from the active range
Who it's for
Beginners — automated markup helps you master structural analysis and large-player zones faster, without hours of manual drawing. Experienced traders — it removes routine work so you can focus on quality entries; a good fit for Price Action and classic technical analysis.
02Smart Money concepts
Smart Money Concepts treats price as driven by large players (institutions, market makers). The indicator automates the markup of these ideas:
- Liquidity — large players seek liquidity to fill positions: equal highs/lows (clustered stops), psychological round numbers, and the highs/lows of the previous day/week/month
- Order Blocks — the candle(s) where a large player built a position; when price returns, the OB acts as support/resistance
- Imbalance / Fair Value Gap (FVG) — an uncovered zone left by an impulsive move; price often returns to it before continuing
- Market structure — HH/HL in an uptrend, LH/LL in a downtrend; the key points are swing highs and lows
- Stop hunts — price breaks a significant level to collect the crowd's stops, then reverses in the true direction
- Time context — activity is tied to the main sessions (London, New York, Asia); key levels and moves often form within them
03Structure & IDM
Structure is built from a sequence of highs and lows; a shift is confirmed by a break (BOS) or a change of character (ChoCh). The IDM Mode sets how liquidity is accounted for:
- ext-idm — external liquidity, beyond the current range (recommended)
- int-idm — internal liquidity, inside the current range
A liquidity area created as the first pullback after a new structural high/low (BOS). It filters false entries: structure is treated as confirmed only after price takes the liquidity beyond the IDM.
04Installation
You install both Money Hunter indicators together. Add MH SMC and MH ToolBox in the same step.
MT4 / MT5
- File → Open Data Folder → MQL5 → Indicators, paste MH SMC and MH ToolBox
- In the Navigator, right-click Indicators → Refresh, then double-click to add
- Common → tick Allow; Inputs → enter the license key; Dependencies → tick Allow DLL imports → OK
- To open the settings later: right-click the chart → Indicators list → select → Properties

05Interface — element by element
The structure controls below are the same on both platforms — the screenshot shows your selected platform (switch it in the sidebar). A value of true / a ticked box shows the element on the chart.
Structure display period
Draw structure across the whole price history, or from a selected date ("Since selected date") to anchor the analysis start.

Structure mode (IDM)
The IDM Mode — ext-idm (recommended) or int-idm — sets whether external or internal liquidity is accounted for.

Current & inner structure
Show current structure displays the current timeframe; Show inner structure adds the microstructure — useful on volatile instruments where current-structure elements sit far apart in a wide range.

Higher-timeframe (MTF) structure
Show MTF / HTF structure overlays a higher timeframe's structure on the current chart; choose which higher TF to display.

Dashboard
An info panel showing the probable trend on the three higher timeframes; it can be enabled and positioned on the chart.

Chart elements (Charts Controls)
The list of main elements — tick to show on the chart: Structure Points, BoS, ChoCh, sweeped BoS/ChoCh, OB-IDM, OB-EXT, Previous OB-EXT, SMT, and the live elements.

Colours
Colour the main elements — bullish/bearish structure, IDM, BoS sweeps, and order blocks. A Monochrome mode gives a single colour for a minimalist chart.

Trend driver
Colour background by structure tints the chart by the current bull/bear structure; Show trend divider shows the main trend (upper line) and inner trend (lower line) — a gap means the trend is undefined.

Premium / Discount
Overbought/oversold zones based on the price range — shown as zones or lines, with upper, central (equilibrium), and lower levels.

Premium (upper part, ~above 50–70%) — price is "expensive", favouring shorts; the large player sells here. Discount (lower part, ~below 30–50%) — price is "cheap", favouring longs; the large player buys here.

07The "Primary" entry point
Enter when a signal candle (from MH ToolBox) appears on a touch or break of an order block — never on a signal candle alone. Wait for price to reach an OB zone, then for a same-direction signal candle.
Signal-candle colours
- Long — light-blue (medium probability), blue (high probability)
- Short — purple (medium probability), black (high probability)
Colours are configurable; "green/red" below refer to the high-probability long/short candles.
Order-block types
- OB-IDM — a weaker order block
- OB-EXT / OB-Previous — stronger order blocks
Risk by combination (longs; shorts mirror)
- Green candle + OB-EXT — 100% of your usual risk
- Green candle + OB-IDM — 50%
- Blue candle + OB-EXT — 50%
- Blue candle + OB-IDM — 25%
Place the SL behind the OB (or behind a large signal candle, or the nearest high/low after the test/break) and the TP for a 1:1 risk/reward. One re-entry is allowed after a stop-out — wait for the next signal candle in the same OB zone after a liquidity sweep.

08Trade examples
A trade is entered when a Smart Point candle appears. Each example marks the entry, take profit, and stop loss on the chart, with the resulting percentage — drawn directly by the indicator's structure and order blocks.

More trades from traders and students are shared in the SMCZone community.
09Markets & timeframes
The indicator is universal — Forex (majors, crosses, exotics), stocks & indices (S&P 500, NASDAQ, DAX…), commodities (gold, oil, silver), crypto (spot and futures), and ETFs — on any timeframe. For the Smart Point system we recommend:
- Crypto — 1m–5m
- Stocks & Forex — 5m–15m
10Troubleshooting
The indicator draws nothing
Usually a strong move on the lower TF. Check D1/W1 — if markup is there, scroll back to the recent strong drop/rise, then in the settings choose Since selected date and set the extreme's date and time. The zones reappear.
